07 Visiting from abroad
Travelling for treatment
Many patients reach us from beyond Bad Schwartau - from across Germany, Scandinavia and further afield. Here is how a visit is usually organised, in plain terms.
It depends entirely on the treatment. Some assessments and simpler work can be grouped into fewer, longer appointments, while implants and staged treatment usually need more than one visit spaced over time. After your examination, Dmitri Klass sets out how many appointments your individual plan is likely to involve, so you can plan your travel around it.
An initial conversation by phone or email helps us understand your situation and what you would like to address. A binding diagnosis and treatment plan, however, require an in-person examination and, where useful, 3D imaging - so a first on-site appointment is always part of the process.
The practice is at Hauptstraße 50 in Bad Schwartau, directly next to Lübeck. Lübeck city centre is only a few minutes away, and Hamburg and its airport are about an hour by car or train. We are glad to point you to nearby options once your appointment is arranged.
Yes. Consultations, examinations and treatment can be carried out in English or German, and we explain findings, materials and the proposed plan in the language you are most comfortable with.
Yes. After your examination you receive an individual, written and itemised estimate for the proposed treatment. Nothing is carried out before you have had the chance to review this plan and its costs. If you are insured within the EU, cross-border care may in some cases be partly reimbursable under EU Directive 2011/24/EU - your own insurer can confirm what applies to you.
